My Etsy shop is live! I’m thrilled to be able to share my Atelier Jagerlea live on Etsy, currently featuring my fine art prints.
I hope that it will be a chance to share my artwork with a farther reaching audience. I loved being able to share my work as a vendor at craft markets earlier in the month. My Etsy shop is an other extension of branching out my art!
I participated in a craft market this past weekend. The weather wasn’t the most cooperative – it was brutally cold and there were not many out perusing the vendors. I only sold one print: but it was hands-down the most special sale of my art career.
A family came by, and a girl was looking at my Cowgirl Sunset print. She was going to buy it, until her dad reminded her that it would take all her allowance money. He suggested that she take a look at all the other vendors, and at the end, if she still wanted the picture, she should come back and buy it. An hour later, she returned.
I think that’s one of the reasons why I love to paint. I love making a scene that resonates with someone else. I love creating connections with people through visual images. I love telling a story with a picture that someone else can pick up and finish it in their own way – with their own words.
Mission Possible! I’m home with my feet up reviewing the success of my first craft market: Big Love Makers Pop Up Market. It was a long day, but I determinedly got there and set up on my own. I learned so much about the process of being a vendor at an event like this: how to display products, what items are more popular, getting my name and information out to the public, and making new contacts. I was also so generously supported by coworkers and sorority sisters! It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to do it again next week 🙂
The crunch is really on as I’m in the homestretch towards my first craft show. I’m painting quite prolifically – mostly small sized canvas. The field of poppies above looks like a huge painting, but it’s only 4×6″ in a small, silver photo frame.
The first show, Big Love Makers Pop Up, is February 6th, at Makerspace North on City Centre Rd, in Ottawa, ON. It’s hosted by The Freewheeling Curator, and she’s a terrific lady! At this event there will be the opportunity to get all your valentines made up and put in the mail! Sweet! And a raffle for a Le Nordik gift prize!
My second show, the following weekend, is Cut & Paste Indie Craft Market, at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, on Somerset St, also in Ottawa, ON. It’s hosted by OOAK & Whimsy (OOAK = one of a kind.) If you go to the Events page on her website, she has made profiles of all her vendors, and you’ll find Atelier Jagerlea there. There are so many other terrific vendors at this show! I can’t wait! There will also be a special raffle with proceeds going to The Well – a support group for women – of donated prizes from vendors at the event. I’m donating a painting, and am so pleased to be able to contribute.
Hope to see some friendlies at either… or both!
